We have an exciting vacancy for a Jewellery Administrator with an ambition to become a jewellery valuer. The role is based in a luxury jewellers based in Surrey.
Job Description:
Repairs:
- Book out all repairs to the relevant workshops checking each job so that you are familiar with all the jobs taken in and so that they are booked out to the correct workshop. In the same way to check back in all repairs.
- Process all repairs upon their return from a workshop. This includes costing in and pricing up each job, checking that the appropriate work has been done, advising customers their item is ready for collection and filing the repair in the appropriate place.
- Handle liaisons between the workshops and the shop over a repair consulting with the member of staff that took the job in where appropriate.
- Report to customers by email or phone with estimates for jewellery repairs as required detailing work to be carried out, cost to customer, and anticipated length of time for completion of repair.
- Continually review all repairs to make sure that work is carried out within the expected time frame.
- Ensure that all customer items are collected within a period of three months from advising the item is ready to collect (unless a longer period is agreed with the customer). If this is not achieved to enter into a TORTS process.
- Maintain the required level of Jewellery findings, watch straps, bracelets and batteries to carry out in house repairs.
Offers:
- To manage and develop purchasing from customer base to win as much business as possible.
- To process all ‘metal’ offers within 10 days of receipt. To be very careful to test and weigh items accurately to make sure our offer is accurate. If necessary offers can be made subject to approval from our bullion dealer.
- To work with trade contacts to process ‘trade’ offers to ensure that the offer we present is as high as we are able to achieve especially for items we wish to keep for our stock.
- To handle liaisons with customers and trade contacts involving the member of staff that took it in where appropriate.
- To report to customers by letter or email detailing the strongest offer we have been able to achieve.
- Continually review all offers made following up with customers that we have not heard back from.
Valuations:
- To produce insurance valuations for all items of Jewellery we sell valued over £1000 gaining approval from Directors
- To undertake probate valuations offered by the Company adhering to deliver the service in full within two weeks of receipt gaining approval from Directors
- To administrate and manage insurance valuations on customers Jewellery working with the valuer and liaising with customers.
Stock:
- To stock in all new products including producing relevant tickets for them. Once stocked in to store them in the relevant area/tray or put the items on display.
- To upload all relevant stock items onto the company website ensuring that all front end information is correct and informative.
- To produce tickets for stock on an ongoing basis whether for display or reserve when relevant.
Sales:
- Attend to all customer needs and to the very best of your ability provide satisfaction with the aim of producing results – sales, repairs and valuations.
- Familiarise and work closely with the Company’s customers to promote sales wherever possible.
- Create sales opportunities through all customer contact in a proactive/creative fashion.
- Deliver attractive window and cabinet displays with the aim of enticing customers into a purchase. After closing to remove stock from the windows placing items in the relevant storage trays.
- Promote stock cleanliness and presentation on a regular basis to improve sales appearance wherever possible.
