As a Senior Jewellery Production Planner, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless execution of production schedules, from concept to completion. You will work closely with the company Director and be responsible for optimising workflows, managing resources, and ensuring the timely delivery of world-class jewellery pieces. Your expertise in planning and collaboration will be essential in maintaining the brand's reputation for exceptional quality.
Key Responsibilities
Production Planning & Coordination:
Develop and manage detailed production schedules to meet deadlines for bespoke and collection pieces.
Move pieces forward to the next steps in the production process.
Ensure sold order deadlines are met, and pieces are crafted to the correct specifications.
Conduct final quality control (QC).
Workflow Optimisation:
Analyse and improve production workflows to enhance efficiency and reduce lead times.
Identify potential bottlenecks and proactively implement solutions.
Ensure all jobbing deadlines are met.
Discuss jobbings with Head Office and advise on how customer requirements can be met.
Material Management:
- Maintain appropriate stock levels to meet production demands without overstocking.
Reporting:
Prepare monthly projections of finished production, considering hallmarking, stone selection, workflow, priority orders, etc.
Produce a large jewellery report forecasting completion dates for special events and exhibitions.
Review the weekly forecast list and push production to meet deadlines.
Ensure completed items are properly archived.
Troubleshooting:
Identify and resolve issues with jewellery pieces, ensuring they meet brand standards.
Resolve issues such as stone miscounts or discrepancies between jewellery pieces and production orders.
Verify stone content in jewellery against paperwork and address any inconsistencies.
Manage general office-related matters related to production.
Key Requirements
Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years in jewellery production planning within the luxury jewellery sector.
Expertise: A strong understanding of jewellery manufacturing processes, including CAD, casting, stone setting, and workshop practices.
Qualifications: GIA, GEM-A, or an equivalent jewellery qualification (desirable but not essential).
Skills:
Exceptional organisational and time-management abilities.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proficient in production planning software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Familiarity with high-value materials, gemstones, and supply chain management.
Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills to liaise with cross-functional teams and external suppliers.
A meticulous approach to detail, ensuring every piece meets the highest quality standards.
A sound knowledge of SAP (highly desirable).
